Hakobian Hakob (1923-2013)

1923 –born in Alexandria, Egypt.
Since 1944 – constant participant of several exhibitions and biennials.
1952-1954 – studied at the Academy of Grande Chomiere in Paris.
1953 – won the II Prize at the International Youth Festival in Bucharest.
Since 1962 – repatriated to Armenia.
1970 – was awarded Bronze Medal at the all-union exhibition.
Since 1970 – Honored artiste of Armenia.
Since 1977 – People artist of Armenia, Laureate of State Prize of Armenia.
Since 1988 – a corresponding member of the USSR Art Academy.
2003 – was awarded “Sahak Partev” and “Mesrop Mashtots” orders on the part of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
2013- died in Yerevan
The works are kept in the Modern Art Museum (Yerevan), National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow) and numerous private collections in Armenia and abroad.
