Elibekyan Vagharshak (1910 - 1994)

1910 – born in Tiflis.
1926-1929 – studied at Art studio of Hayartun (House of Armenian Culture), class of Gigo Sharabchyan.
1936-1956 – directed the Armenian Theatre of Young Spectator, (Tiflis).
1946 -1956 – headed the State Armenian Drama Theatre after S.Shahumyan, (Tiflis).
1950 – was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honour.
1968 – Honored Culture Worker of Georgian SSR.
1979 – moved to Yerevan.
1981 – artistic consultant at “Hayfilm” studio for the movie “Gikor”.
1994 – died.
Exhibitions
1976-1985 – personal exhibitions in Yerevan, Tbilisi, Toronto, Detroit, Los Angeles.
1981 – exhibition “The family of painters Elibekyan” in Wiesbaden.
1986 – group exhibition of Armenian painters “Colours of Armenia”, London.
1987 – exhibition “Elibekyans: Vagharshak, Henrik, Robert”, Vilnius.
The works are kept in the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), Modern Art Museum (Yerevan), private collections in Armenia and abroad.
