"Oeuvre of Leon Tutundjian"

"Bardzr Arvest" Fine Art Center has won the tender for the contractual (thematic) funding of scientific and scientific-technical activities announced by the State Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
The main purpose of this project is to study the oeuvre of one of the most distinctive French artist of Armenian descent of the beginning of 20th century, Leon Tutundjian (1905-1968). Being a survivor of the Armenian Genocide and settling in France, this artist is one of the founders of tachisme, surrealism and geometric abstraction. His works are exhibited in the most prestigious museums of the world, along with works by Picasso, Dali and Miro, while still little known to the Armenian public. There are not many researches of Tutundjian's art work since his oeuvre is little known. In the framework of this project creations of Tutundjian in museums, galleries and private collections, as well as materials concerning lifetime and posthumous exhibitions will be researched and analized. The results of this work will be published in form of scientific articles and will serve as the basis for the monograph andthe script of the film devoted to the creative biography of the artist. This work will contribute to the promotion of Tutundjian's art in Armenia and will help to better present the works of this artists to the admirers of his art.
Within the framework of the scientific theme titled "Oeuvre of Leon Tutundjian" (2015-2017), Tutundjian's geometric abstract-style graphic works, his post-exposure exhibitions, information on contemporary artists from Tutunjian's international auctions were collected and scientifically written. Articles, reports have been made in the framework of scientific conferences.

Exhibitions:
On the June 12, 2015, in Marsel, within the framework of "Flowering Apricot" Exhibition, organized by ''Bardzr Arvest'' Fine Art Center, has been exhibited Tutundjian's ''Yellow Mask'' painting and grafic works.
From October 7 to 31,2016, within the framework of "Independence" exhibition organized by ‘’Bardzr Arvest ‘’ Fine Art Center, Tutundjian’s oil paintings and graphic works were exhibited in Yerevan Modern Art Museum.
From September 5 to 29 2017, after Komitas Museum Institute Within the scope of the "Selection" exhibition, organized by Bardzr Arvest Art Center, Tutunjyan's oil paintings and graphic works were exhibited. From October 1 to December 2, the exhibition has been continued at the Shadevr art-gallary, which contributes to the propaganda of the artist's work in his historical homeland.
